Situated in the Shenandoah Valley, Lexington Valley Vineyard produces a variety of wines, including Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, and a Norton. Wine making at this vineyard is a family affair. Lisa Decrozant shares a favorite pairing of her parents and brother: their Cabernet Franc and “Beer Can Chicken.”

“Cab Franc is a great “bistro wine”, meaning, it is an awesome pair with everyday dishes you might expect to order in a café.  It is comfortable alongside everything from steak frites to roast chicken. We like to fiddle with the traditional beer can chicken recipe by adding things like curry or lemon thyme to the rub, or even adding some of the wine to the beer can to infuse the chicken with a bit of the Cab Franc aromas it is paired with.  The aromatics from the rub on the chicken can shine through when paired with our Cab, which is “stripped down”- aged in stainless steel.  The result is the natural soft lilac and sandalwood of the Cab Franc grape co-mingled with a succulent, seasoned chicken.”
